I "saw" this piece on "DeviantArt" and, curiously, it summed up how I feel abou this July 4th perfectly.

CENSORING

I'm censoring my gallery and removing anything that might conceivably violate DA's new content guidelines. Since these guidelines are impossibly vague ( https://www.deviantart.com/666markofthebeast666/status-update/21765572 ) It literally contains the term "or otherwise objectionable", meaning there is NO clear standard and NO consistency of enforcement. As a result I'm removing EVERTYHING from my gallery that contains even a HINT of violence, intimacy, sexuality, or other similar themes. I'm going to aim for 10 -20 images self-censored per day until I'm done, though on days I'm feeling meritorious I'll do more. If you like my art NOW is the time to go through my gallery and capture whatever you fancy. PLEASE feel free to re-post it anywhere you want EXCEPT for DA. I must say that I profoundly regret and resent the necessity to censor my own art, even if I recognize that this is a private company's website and they have the right to regulate it's content, from a legal perspective. From a moral perspective the decision to destroy art has entirely different connotations, and I leave it to you, my dear viewers, to ascertain what I think of the sort of person who would choose to destroy art.

Do any other creators find adding work to groups INCREDIBLY cumbersome and time consuming now? I mean, EVEN MORE cumbersome and time consuming than it already was. Am I missing something, or is it really as painstaking a process as it currently seems to be?

Some of you may have noticed that I've not posted anything here for several weeks. I see no reason to conceal the fact that I suffer from fairly severe depression which, when it comes on full force generally sees me to the bottom of a bottle or the end of a needle (or both), so that's where I've been the last few weeks. Right here doing exactly fuck all. Anyway I'm done with it (for now), and back to work. Here's hoping you maniacs all have your mental health under some kind of control and remember, no shame.

I post this to let you know where I've been, but also because there is so much stigma around mental health I think it's important for people to be honest and open about things like depression so that we don't all feel obliged to suffer in private and secret. I hope this helps someone and remember; you are not alone.
